STARTER EQUIPMENTIf you're serious about getting started best - Start out with 4 basic items: Helmet, Paddock boots, gloves, riding pants an approved riding helmet. You'll need a helmet that meets all ASTM/SEI safety standards. Approved riding helmets are available at:
To be properly fitted for a helmet, you should visit an area tack shop. Helmet should fit snugly without causing pain.
What you will want: Riding pants The seams in breeches make for comfortable riding in the saddle. Their light elasticity makes them more comfortable than jeans. Jeans are not allowed because of the damage they do to our tack. Riding gloves are strongly recommended. Riders beyond the beginner level will be required to ride in gloves as it helps for even contact on the reins. Gloves also protect the rider from blisters and hang nail injuries. Riding gloves are made for all types of weather.
